So the Story Goes...

1988
Jeanine's First Day in Glass
How time flies… Jeanine’s first day in glass began at China Southern Glass back in 1988. Little did she know she’d still be shaping the industry nearly 40 years later. Her journey started by pioneering the international sale and distribution of high-performing glass. During her time at CSG, she oversaw production, low-e glass development, and global sales — laying the foundation for ASG today.

1995
Factories in Australia
In 1995, Jeanine made the move to Australia, continuing her glass journey on new shores. Following China Southern Glass’s acquisition of Greenbole Glass in Sydney and New Line Glass in Brisbane, she stepped into the role of General Manager for both companies. It was a pivotal chapter — leading operations across two states, building strong local teams, and introducing Australian markets to high performing low-e glass.

2000
Business Model Change & Herald Weekly Times
By the year 2000, it was time for a new direction. Jeanine restructured the business model and established China Southern Glass Australia Pty Ltd(CSGA), transitioning from local manufacturing to a streamlined import model focused on high-performing Low-E glass. With rising operational costs, the Greenbole and New Line Glass factories were closed, paving the way for a more agile approach. CSGA quickly gained traction, landing its first major project — the Herald & Weekly Times building in Melbourne with builder Bovis Lend Lease.

2004
100 Projects in Australia & Freshwater Place
By 2004, China Southern Glass Australia had firmly established itself in the local market, having successfully completed its first 100 projects across Australia. This milestone was a testament to Jeanine’s vision and the growing demand for high-performance Low-E glass. That same year, CSGA commenced supply for one of Melbourne’s most iconic developments — Freshwater Place — further cementing its reputation as a trusted supplier for large-scale, premium architectural projects.

2007
Supply Partnership with G James
In 2007, CSGA reached another major milestone by commencing a supply partnership with G.James, one of Australia’s largest and most respected glass and aluminium manufacturers. This collaboration marked a significant step forward, combining CSGA’s international expertise in high-performance Low-E glass with G.James’ extensive national footprint. The partnership opened new opportunities for large-scale projects and reinforced CSGA’s position as a key player in the Australian glass industry.

2012
Edward Joins the Business
In 2012, the next chapter of the family legacy began as Jeanine’s son, Edward, joined the business. A Macquarie University graduate with a double bachelor’s degree in Commerce and Law, Edward brought a fresh perspective and a new wave of energy to the company. Stepping into the role of Marketing and Business Development, he focused on elevating the company brand, expanding its reach, and driving awareness around the benefits of high-performance glass in modern construction.

2016
Restructuring & ASG
In 2016, a significant transformation took place as China Southern Glass Australia restructured and evolved into ASG Architectural Solutions Glass. No longer an exclusive subsidiary of CSG Holdings, the business became a privately owned company under the leadership of Jeanine and Edward. Leveraging decades of industry experience and a strong global supply chain, they established their own offshore QA team to ensure every product met Australia’s increasingly stringent quality standards. ASG began working closely with selected factories, utilising dedicated production lines to manufacture glass products tailored specifically to the local market — marking a new era of independence, quality control, and innovation.

2017
Supply into New Zealand
In 2017, ASG expanded beyond Australia and entered the New Zealand market, marking a new milestone in the company’s growth. The first project — 33 Alma Street, Broadway Auckland — was completed in partnership with Wight Aluminium, a leader in the NZ façade industry. This successful collaboration laid the foundation for a strong and ongoing partnership in New Zealand, extending ASG’s commitment to delivering high-performance glass solutions across the Tasman.

2019
1000 Projects & Counting
In 2019, ASG proudly reached a major milestone — the commencement of our 1000th project, Jubilee Place in Brisbane. This landmark moment reflected years of dedication, innovation, and trusted partnerships across the industry. Jubilee Place, a striking architectural development, symbolised not just another project, but a celebration of ASG’s journey from humble beginnings to becoming a leading supplier of high-performance glass in Australia. It marked a proud chapter in our legacy and a clear sign of the road ahead.

2021
Partnership with Hutchinson Builders
In 2021, ASG entered a direct glass supply partnership with Hutchinson Builders, one of Australia’s largest privately owned construction companies. This collaboration began with the successful delivery of 895 Ann Street in Brisbane and quickly evolved into a trusted, ongoing relationship. Since then, ASG has proudly supplied glass for a series of landmark developments, including 205 North Quay, Mondrian Hotel Burleigh Heads, West Village, 31 Duncan Street, and many more — solidifying our role as a key partner in Australia’s built environment.

2025...
Expansion & New Horizons
Looking ahead to 2025 and beyond, ASG is embracing new horizons and expanding into exciting frontiers of architectural glass. Building on decades of experience, we’re continuing to innovate by introducing specialised solutions including interior design glass, complex façade systems, bullet-resistant glass, blast-resistant glass, and high-performance glass engineered to meet increasingly stringent building codes and environmental standards. This next chapter reflects our commitment to pushing boundaries, delivering technical excellence, and supporting the evolving needs of architects, builders, and designers across Australia and New Zealand.
