Laminated Glass

Laminated glass is a form of high performing safety glass, comprised of two or more plies of glass held together with a polyvinyl butyral interlayer (PVB) in between. The infusion of PVB and glass results in the glass being stuck onto the PVB interlayer even when damaged or broken. Safety, high visual light transmittance, great thermal properties, excellent acoustic attributes and ultra-violet protection are some of the features that results in laminated glass being prominently used on shop fronts, high end residential and commercial buildings, motor vehicles, ships, and airplanes.

Features and Applications

- Installed laminated glass can't be broken easily. Therefore, laminated glass can be a remedy against malicious destruction, pilferage and other voilent forms of invasion.

- Suitable for regions susceptible to earthquakes and hurricanes, as its safety features allows it to retain its original position even if broken.

- Noise reduction performance, PVB membrane has good sound wave hindering properties and thus will provide effective reduction in noise transmission.

- UV shielding performance: laminated glass can substantially ward off ultravoilent (as much as over 99%). This helps to reduce the affect of ultravoilet wear and tear on furniture, curtains, and other exhibits.
